Little Girl Anime Power Rankings – Week 52

The, for whatever reason, growing increasingly rare Sunday post. For what it’s worth, this is the last post of the first season of LGAPR. What could that possibly mean? I’ll just tell you to keep your eyes peeled later in the week.

You get moved to a late night slot for a reason.

Joking. Kind of.

Previous Standings

1) Aikatsu! – 417 Points
2) Jewelpet Magical Change – 383 Points
3) Go! Princess Precure – 328 Points
4) PriPara – 243 Points

If I had to give anyone an A for effort, it’d definitely be Magical Change. It’s the one series that could overcome Aikatsu given enough time. I guess it runs in the family.

Weekly Point Distribution

1) Jewelpet Magical Change – +9 Points
3) Go! Princess Precure – +6 Points
2) Aikatsu! – +3 Points
4) PriPara – +1 Point

A Word From the Big Man
So this week was pretty bad. Character episodes man, tough stuff.

Stand Name: Vanilla Chili Peppers

You know I wouldn’t have to give a long sigh when talking about this episode if it wasn’t the exact same thing we saw last major arc (Unit Cup). Nothing has happened since then, so the fact we just fell into the same hole is kind of disgusting. It’s not the worse thing ever, but it’s incredibly disappointing to watch. Hopefully they’re just withholding ideas for the fourth season otherwise things are just going to start getting really gloomy from here on out.

Oh spare me.

It’s funny how a cheesy parody of Doraemon and bad puns can still manage to get you a top spot. Actually, the real reason Magical Change is number one has nothing to do with the fact that it was completely uncontested this week. Why would you ever think that? It’s obviously because it turns out that Luea is a miniskirt wearing whore. Don’t give into temptation guys; you know how high her bitch levels are.

That’s Emperor Close to you.

What’s funny is, I was going to originally rank Precure below Aikatsu! before I realized it was really unfair to Precure. Sure, Precure did a really shitty character episode that completely muddied such a high potential confrontation. And no matter how obvious it was that it was going to happen, the return of Emperor Close is probably one of the better things that could have happened this week (and it really beats Aikatsu! doing a polished re-run). Right now, Precure could be worse. In fact, it could be a lot worse. And next week actually looks pretty damn awful. So let’s just revel in the fact that they didn’t completely screw up this week.

The Idol on the Umeboshi

I take back my apology. I don’t watch PriPara so I can watch a Prince play with his creepy barbies. This episode is just a forewarning to an oncoming stampede of sub-par character episodes akin to what Precure wants to do right now. So rather than just ending it, PriPara is insisting on a slow, agonizing death for it’s viewers. Or it’s just a cunning plot to bring back all these side characters that nobody really cared about in the first place.

Wrap-Up
Kind of a sad week to end the first season on.
