Little Girl Anime Power Rankings Season 2 – Week 8

Guess what? Everything had a shitty or non-existent Halloween episode this year. So fuck Halloween, that holiday sucks anyway.

What ever happened to the good cop, bad cop routine?

Oh yeah, the good cop is too busy running around in his nurse outfit putting strawberry band-aids on boo-boos. My bad.

Previous Standings

1) Aikatsu! – 47 Points
2) Go! Princess Precure – 35 Points
3) Jewelpet Magical Change – 34 Points
4) PriPara – 27 Points

I feel like Princess Precure just came out of the shadows and decked Magical Change straight into next week and out of second place.

Weekly Point Distribution

1) Aikatsu! – +9 Points
2) Jewelpet Magical Change – +6 Points
3) PriPara – +3 Points
4) Go! Princess Precure – +1 Point

A Word From the Big Man
This week was so set in stone I almost didn’t have to watch PriPara. But I’d get in trouble if I didn’t.

Not even Juri’s pose striking is safe from Madoka’s iron claw.

I guess the smart thing about creating Risa and Nono is it allows the main three to run around all of Japan while still keeping tabs on the events on Starlight. The only real issue is it’s kind of rough transition switching between the two stories efficiently. Still, Risa and Nono get their spotlight again with everybody’s favorite, “Meet the Designer,” episode. Actually, it was kind of cute and goes back to the Beverly Hillbillies kind of thing the two are supposed to be representing. Alright, so that’s a little mean. But it is pretty funny watching the two potato farmers trying to survive in the big city and failing horribly at it. All in all, it was just a cute episode and a general step above everything else that aired this week.

Your friendly neighborhood Close here with an important message.

Precure didn’t air this week, and this is it’s last free sick day of the year. Oh bother. It really does suck being a part of Nichiasa, doesn’t it?

I’m looking for Sanrio characters. Where do Sanrio characters hang out?

Magical Change was split this week between an amusing take on the classic treasure hunter race and tied itself into a little dumber than usual spiel that was supposed to be about Halloween. Actually, the second half of Magical Change wasn’t even that dumb compared to what it’s done before; it was just a little dead compared to the gags it threw out in the first half of the show. I don’t think it’s the best combination it’s done recently, and I probably would have preferred to have a jumbo sized, goofy Halloween episode this week. The first half could have easily stood on it’s own and tied into about anything (rather than a nonsense Halloween feel good story).

I think it’s a message or something.

You know, PriPara could really benefit from just breaking it’s episodes into two parts like Jewelpet. There are so many times that episodes are so loosely tied together that they’d be better off just calling them two different things. The staff is obviously pretty lazy in the writing sense, so why not maker it easy on yourself? Anyhow, this week was divided between a jumbled first half and a second half that held together somewhat decently. It’s just finally hitting that point where they’re setting up Prince to get overthrown by Lala because she’s the main character. Because they really seemed convinced to let her stay as the end all while having Mirei and Aroma randomly doing training on the side. If they don’t do something with those two in the near future, I’m going to feel really bad for them. Actually, fuck making them relevant again during this arc. Save it and do something cool later, please.

Wrap-Up
So much for holiday spirit, huh. Well, at least there’s Christmas.
