Little Girl Anime Power Rankings Season 2 – Week 44

In a world where asking about someone’s day turns into a story about what Pokemon they found walking around, there’s still little girl anime to talk about. But don’t worry. You can tell me all about that Squirtle you found once we’re finished here.

I am Shock.

In case you were ever worried that Fairilu would never go full Sanrio anime, the staff has your back.

Previous Standings

1) Aikatsu Stars! – 338 Points
2) Mahou Tsukai Precure! – 289 Points
3) PriPara – 239 Points
4) Rilu Rilu Fairilu – 216 Points

There’s this small chance that Fairilu passes PriPara in the last stretch. And while that would be amusing, it’d also mean that Fairilu gives away a free 10 point bonus at the start of the next season.

Weekly Point Distribution

1) Mahou Tsukai Precure! – +9 Points
2) Rilu Rilu Fairilu – +6 Points
3) Aikatsu Stars! – +3 Points
4) PriPara – +1 Point

A Word From the Big Man
Even if nothing moved, it was honestly a really good week for everything but Pripara. I had thought a few times over about allowing a tie, but I’m generally trying to give credit where credit is due.

Everyone has that awkward friend.

I’ve been giving Stars a bit of a rough time recently, but I feel they finally threw together a down to Earth character episode this week. Mahiru is just a solid character, and I actually hope she shows up frequently to add some dynamic to the cast. Rola’s family history wasn’t too far from what we saw in the original Aikatsu, but Mahiru brings actual siblings to the table. Having two famous sibling both attending the same school adds a lot they can do with her character, and I would consider it a shame if she falls too far in the back. I’m fairly sure a single character isn’t going to start turning the series around for me, but it’s definitely a start.

Turns out incompetent parents raise incompetent kids. Who knew?

I have to be honest, I think I enjoyed the potential foreshadowing of this episode moreso than anything else. I always say things like this on Twitter, but I’m not really sure how spunky the staff will be at the end of MahoPri. But there are these little plot points they throw in that potentially setup a lot of ambitious ways to close out the series. Either way, I want to say this episode will more or less close out the huge landslide of events that has been occurring recently. The series has a lot of time to burn until it hits it’s finale, so it’ll be interesting what kind of developments happen along the way. The series definitely has high potential to start dragging it’s feet though.

Speaking of incompetent parents.

Lala loses parenting rights. Again. Then gets them back. Again. Neat.

I wouldn’t trust her either, Rose.

It’s a little difficult to tell exactly what Fairilu wants to do with Rose’s character at times, but this week might have shed a bit more light on that subject. We already knew from previous weeks that the whole love advantage Lip had over everyone else might have led to her downfall, but Rose might have been become the new fall man in that regard. I generally like the development, and I’m happy they’re doing what they are over both of them competing for the affection of the same human. Whatever the case, Fairilu is definitely worth keeping an eye on from here one out.

Wrap-Up
Next week is probably the biggest chance for the other shows to end Precure’s reign of terror. Of course, every time I say that Precure just puts up a solid episode or every other show decides it’s a good time to drop the ball.
