Little Girl Anime Power Rankings Season 3 – Week 18

A little on the late side, but we should be back into the swing of things again come next week.

You’ve seen Yuri On Ice, but have you seen Celery On Ice?

Entertaining and healthy.

Previous Standings

1) Mahou Tsukai Precure! – 181 Points
2) Rilu Rilu Fairilu – 138 Points
3) Aikatsu Stars! – 135 Points
4) PriPara – 125 Points

If you didn’t check out the 2016 end of the year awards post, then I recommend you do to make sense of these numbers.

Weekly Point Distribution

1) Mahou Tsukai Precure! – +9 Points
2) Rilu Rilu Fairilu – +6 Points
3) Aikatsu Stars! – +3 Points
4) PriPara – +1 Point

A Word From the Big Man
PriPara didn’t air this week, so we’ll have to wait until next week to determine who gets the first award of the year.

That much sun exposure will do that to your skin.

The most relevant thing about this episode is that they felt the need to further the idea that the three will get split up at the end of the series. They’ve hinted at the possibility a lot, but this is the first time where the characters actually seemed self aware of the situation. The one thing I’ve learned about Precure this year is that it’s been really open to experimentation. So, at this point, I’m still not ruling out a potential break up in the last episode. The real problem is Precure has taken a weird path to it’s finale, so I don’t feel that these penultimate episodes are guaranteed to be amazing.

Let it go.

Fairilu managed to turn out two amusing parts this week even if one was like watching a mini, more enjoyable version of Frozen. I really don’t have that much to say otherwise. The biggest thing is I don’t know how Fairilu plans to separate it’s seasons since it will be coming upon the end of it’s year term alongside Precure this month. It’s become obvious they don’t plan on doing any sort of series shift, so I just assume a new ED might be rolling out soon, if anything.

Mahiru had to ruin the mood with those pants.

Stars was really nothing more than a recap episode with some fluff mixed in this week. I can’t say it was really bad, and it’s a logical way to start the year. I just don’t think it was a particularly interesting way to start the year either.

Wrap-Up
2017 didn’t really start with a bang, but it wasn’t the worst week ever.
