Little Girl Anime Power Rankings Season 3 – Week 29

We’ve finally reached the current week of LGAPR. Probably a good week to catch up during with everything almost ending and all.

Cut that out.

No touchy feely memories before a performance allowed.

A Word From the Big Man
I was really tempted to force Fairilu and PriPara to tie for last this week. But that would require giving them both third and that just didn’t feel right because both shows didn’t deserve that many points.

You could have at least broken a window instead.

Precure brings the rest of the cast back in this week to really kick off the true meat of the series. I’ve been kind of waiting to see the full team working together, and it was fairly amusing to see their growing pains. I want to say that the episode was particularly good or entertaining, but it really just got a free seat in second because the other two shows were really that bad.

That spicy curry really goes right to your eyes.

Stars brings an end to the final group with a showdown between Yume and Hime. I often try to be hard on Stars, but it’s only because I know the staff has good ideas brewing on their side. And when those ideas come through we manage to get episodes like this week. I really didn’t have much to complain about, and all the best aspects of Stars really managed to come through. Not only did it bring closure to Yume, but it also managed to go back and address Rola and Lily from the previous week.

It’s definitely been a bumpy ride, and this episode could probably have been a real tear jerker had the first half of Stars been cleaner. But the episode was incredibly well done and I hope the new season mimics more of what we saw in this second half of the first season. If the staff can manage that, then Stars may be able to pull off a concept it’s founding series couldn’t execute properly.

It’s not an awards show if everybody wins.

As it’s last episode, Fairilu did a half hour episode dedicated to reminding you of every Fairilu you met over the year. After all those tears and emotions last episode and what could have been a great ending, Fairilu pretty much ended on absolutely nothing. It didn’t feel like an epilogue, and I don’t think the kids really needed to be reminded of what happened in the first season at the end of it. PriPara might have done the same episode it always does this week, but it was hard to give Fairilu credit for anything this week.

That’s a time paradox if I’ve ever seen one.

PriPara released a completely original episode you haven’t seen at least three times already. I swear. I really didn’t have high expectations for PriPara this week, so getting a ten or so minute live wasn’t really a shocker.

Next week will bring an end to April and the last couple of shows that are ending will be presenting their final episodes. Or more like epilogues.
