Little Girl Anime Power Rankings Season 3 – Week 43

I’ve finally stabilized after coming back home, so it’s time for a double header of LGAPR posts.

Talk about flying in comfort.

I’ve never had a good experience falling asleep while flying.

A Word From the Big Man
There are times where it feels like PriPara writers just throw their arms in the air and give up.

From perfection to pupil.

Precure has remained in high gear since the introduction of Ciel with this week being no exception. Ciel’s true form is revealed as well as a huge chunk of backstory as to how a fairy turns into a human. Surprise, surprise, it wasn’t a very good explanation. I enjoyed Precure from the story standpoint this week, but I wouldn’t scream about it from the mountaintops. It really is just another week where everything else was on the relatively weak side of the line.

They had to do it eventually.

Someone on the Stars team just really wanted to animate a segment where the S4 transformed into sentai. The Aikatsu series has done a lot of parodies at this point, and sentai is one of the few things heavily related to BandaiNamco that they haven’t touched. The episode was actually supposed to be dedicated to Lily, but it was so ridiculous that you paid very little attention to what was going on with her character. It wasn’t as bad as last week, but it was just such an offhand character episode that it might as well have been a TV drama/movie gag episode to truly capitalize on what they wanted to do.

I’m not feeling enough humility here.

Rose gets her first real episode of the season, and it was just whatever. It was a very middle of the road Fairilu episode where it wasn’t too weird or cute, so it just felt underwhelming. Most Fairilu episodes that succeed tend to capitalize on exaggerating a certain element, but this week was just another week at school that didn’t show a side of Rose we haven’t seen before. Not to mention, Yuuto has been the most absent of all the buddies, and seeing him left out again was a little upsetting. So I do hope he gets an appearance next time they decide to address Rose’s character.

Get used to these kinds of episodes, Yui.

I honestly can’t tell if PriPara staff just didn’t care or if they just didn’t have any money to animate an actual episode. But they missed an opportunity to write an episode they’ve done before, so I’m honestly inclined to guess the latter. If they really wanted to give reason for Aroma and the gang to be banished from Parajuku, then the trio has done plenty of similar shenanigans before that would merit banishment. So it’d make for some really easy writing to just have Aroma cause trouble again and bring about the straw to break the camel’s back. But nearly twenty minutes of lives we’ve seen before was obviously what PriPara needed to do instead.

Wrap-Up
Filler episodes in long series are often a center of discussion, but PriPara filler is truly a next level of irritating.
